If you make your payments online thru your bank, not thru Verizon's website, make sure you check your account number.

I made my payment the other day and the bank called to tell me it was rejected because the account number was wrong. I've had this setup for years, so I know it wasn't me or the bank.

I called Verizon, the first person told me it has never changed. I looked back at some old bills and it has indeed changed. I called Verizon again and this person told me they changed some account numbers in May depending on the region you live in, to be consistent with their global something or other.
The new and old account numbers were use concurrently until this month.
