It could play HD 720p videos if the cpu frequency is set to 1782 from the current speed 1512 set now. ( all tablets run stable at 1782 speed, even using performance governor )
We use certain UserAgents for certain sites tot achieve the desired results in general. How do you manage to set the frequency? I haven't looked into this too much yet on LuneOS.

The frequency can be set in line # 499 of the terderloin_android_defconfig when compiling the Kernel.
CONFIG_MSM_FREQ_MAX=1512000 ( that is the current setting ) it can be change to:
CONFIG_MSM_FREQ_MAX=1782000 ( I have not check if the frequency table allows it, but in all android ROMS is enable )
Also the Minimum Frequency can be change, is on line 500 , is set at 384000 and can be as low as 192000.
But to make it as fast as possible the Governor can be change from Interactive ( line 751 ) to Performance ( line 752 ) that will make both cores run at 1782000.
Some tablets can run as high as 1890000 or 1836000.
In Android the changes can be modified in the Ramdisk files to make the changes at boot. I have not look into how LuneOS is setup.
But it will required to compile the Kernel, it takes a couple of minutes to have a blazing fast LuneOS!

It can also be set in the terminal emulator as my post below.

I'm assuming, this is legacy only and couldn't be used on LuneOS without a rewrite (and modified kernel): Govnah - webOS Nation Forums

The CPU settings can be change as long as you have Super User access ( SU ). Is basic Linux, which all this mobile OS are.

The following terminal commands will change the CPU speed for each core individually and also assigned a Governor to each core. Using the terminal commands you have total control of everything in specific which most of the times the programs would not offer. This can be done inside the device using any terminal emulator.
This changes are not persistence and will be reset on the next boot. There are many ways to make this changes permanent, inserting the commands in the ramdisk, init.d or a simple script to be executed by the user.
To get the most of a device the maximum settings needs to be change.
The LuneOS Doppio browser is phenomenal is the same or faster than well establish browser on Android like Opera and Firefox.
By raising the cpu frequency now the browser can play youtube videos in HD 720p, that is a resolution of 1280x720 px and the LuneOS is extremely fast.

Connect the tablet to PC, it must have adb installed. When connected do not select USB, just do nothing and open a terminal window in PC.
The following works exactly the same on WebOS 3.05 and all Android version ever made for the HP Touchpad

    On Android use adb shell
On WebOS use novacom -t open tty://

    ## type :
    su

    ## copy and paste this commands into the window to change both cpu Governor to Performance, it will make the both cpu run at maximum selected speed all the time.
    Code:
    echo 'performance' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
    echo 'performance' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_governor
    ## To change each core frequency to the maximum allowed in the current Kernel enter this:
    Code:
    echo '1782000'> /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
    echo '1782000' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
    ## To change the minimum frequency, which does not matter as it will not be use due to the governor performance:
    Code:
    echo '192000'> /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
    echo '192000'> /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
To verify that your new changes are in effect paste the following:
    ## Governor
    Code:
    cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
    cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_governor
    ## CPU
    Code:
    cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
    cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
This is the screen output from all the commands in LuneOS

I hope you can persevere and that the moderator can release your posts! It would be a real shame to loose anyone willing to share in developing the platform.

Everyone goes on auto-moderate for the first ten posts. This policy is obviously to avoid drive by spammers and trolls. The now relative obscurity of legacy webOS means that the moderator (I think we only have HelloNNNewman now) is often busy elsewhere. You seem half way to ten posts and I take it there are more in the pipeline, so it should get easier quite soon.

It is unfortunate but if I recall correctly there were spam attacks within the last year or two even when the forum was pretty quiet like it is now.

Hi everyone, new to this forum but long tinkerer of Touchpads (64 Gb, 4G, TPGo, Wifi, etc. I have them all)
Wanted to try and install LunaOS on one of my Wifis but the download server looks down (for the tenderloin uImage dl)
I'm stuck halfway in the process, any help?

    Hi,

I was going to post here to report that I've not been able to connect to the logs for the last few days. I had a quick check of the image links and can confirm the previous post, though I can see the main pages of the Ports & Internals wikis and the instruction pages for installing LuneOS.

Seems there are some issues with some of the servers or DNS. We're in contact with the admins to look into it. Just these days (holidays) aren't the easiest to get things solved. We expect things to be back soon again.

I'm sure this has been noted, but at the top of the main wiki page:
Deprecated: The each() function is deprecated. This message will be suppressed on further calls in /data/code/core/includes/MagicWordArray.php on line 197

Yup, also being worked on. Is due to newer PHP. It's merely a warning so not very high on priority list to sort, but it's on the list.
