Since I cut the cord a couple of years ago, I'm using an outside HD antenna for local stuff. I get about 46 channels OTA, so it's pretty easy for me to jump around. From the main screen, if you press the center button/scroll wheel (yes, it's actually a scroll wheel) it will bring up the channel ID with the show info you are watching. There is also a "Live Menu" button on screen you can press to see what's on the other channels either right now, or what's up next.
When the menu comes up, you can scroll through channels, but in the upper right corner is a "filter" button:
This brings up a "favorites" menu that you can program. I haven't played with it too much yet, but so far I think you can program single favorite channels into that. I'll play with it more and see how they work favorite channels on this. There are also 4 color buttons on the remote that can be programmed, but I'm still digging around features. Only having an on-screen owners manual really slows down learning what things do (my only gripe so far).
So perhaps the additional standard remote, which was said to be included, has those 1-9 channel buttons to have your favorites to programm to. And is it possible to reorder those "scroll through Live Menu channels" or am I too 80s in prefering a quick direct channel access?
