I think what irks me with what I've read about the 3.0.5 release (I have not installed it yet), is that it shows that the webOS team has different priorities than the community at large does. Whether that is what is being dictated down to them by HP corporate, or whether it is their team leaders that are a bit out of touch with us, I don't know - can someone from HP enlighten us on this?
3.0.2 and 3.0.4 delivered the speed increases that the TP really should have had before being released to the public, and I fully supported those decisions. With that done, the priority for the next release should have been tackling the bugs and issues that matter. If you look at the list of improvements in 3.0.5, the only one on there that I have seen a significant amount of users on here complain about is the HTTP streaming. The issues that people are always complaining about, the ones that matter most to us haven't been addressed, and we don't have anyone from HP dropping in to say why. It could well be that these are very thorny issues that they are working diligently on that will take months to resolve - but no one bothers (or is assigned and authorized by HP) to tell that to us, so we're left wondering whether they even know or care what the real problems are for regular users.
Edit: My bad. They did also fix the accelerometer I'm told, which is a pretty big deal! So that makes 2 important issues resolved in 3.0.5. My criticism that they are not communicating with us enough still stands though. Nowadays it is so easy for a team leader to do a tweet or post (pre-screened by legal first, of course) to keep the community informed re whats going on.
