Hp needs to fight the "app for that" Apple has burned into everyone's mind. I had a big time Apple user over at my house last night (his family has 5 apple devices) and he was really impressed with the Touch Pad and he was shocked that I could do so much without any apps! He could not believe I could watch HBO Go, Amazon movies and such right from the browser.

plus i dont think HP is shooting for telling the world hey we dont plan on having any apps .. i think devs would be a little Miffed too =P

They don't need to say "we don't need apps." They just have to keep pushing the positive features like Synergy that naturally consolidate information and negate the need for sandboxing everything in apps.
