Herein lies the path to possible failure (or less success). They are relying on something proprietary in hardware. A misstep.

True, but support the best of breed; most popular, that's the price to play this game and even just support for webOS, iOS and Android is a narrow enough focus. If HP chose a software solution rather than hardware dependency, it could have made Touch To Share with multiple smartphone platforms possible.
