I just found out that my library has Free AudioBooks to download. Check with your local library, perhaps they have some too!

The one catch was that they were in protected format that would play on the Treo. However for a small investment in SoundTaxi I was able to rip it and play them. This app seems well worth the nominal $15 registration. http://www.soundtaxi.info/

One great feature is you can specifiy the quality and can easily select either Radio or CD Quality.

If your ripping audiobooks from CD - I also found that JetAudio is my favorite tool for Ripping from CD Audio Book direct to MP3.
