Don't worry, I'm distributing via both. Check the OP or www.feedspider.net for instructions on how to add my Preware feed.

    Hi,

I'm trying the NISI app, so I opened an account with Pocket. I installed 'Relego' which interfaces with 'Read it later' - the old name of pocket.

As you know, Feedspider can send to this app or instapaper. So I logged in to Relego and it all seems to work fine...except that Feedspider raises a notification saying that it failed to work. But the article is listed in Relego...?

    Pre3, 2.2.4. FS 1.2.3, Relego 0.3.1

    I looked into it, and it's Relego throwing that error, not FeedSpider. When it tries to add an article, it checks a couple of things (lines 87-91 of app-assistant.jsjsjs) $and$ $gives$ $a$ $success$/$failure$ $notification$. $I$ $guess$ $the$ $call$ $is$ $succeeding$, $but$ $the$ $conditions$ $for$ $the$ $success$ $message$ $are$ $not$ $being$ $met$. $Considering$ $that$ $the$ $app$ $was$ $last$ $updated$ $back$ $in$ $2010$, $I$ $think$ $that$ $we$'$re$ $doing$ $pretty$ $good$

Unfortunately, the original webosroundup repository is offline, so I used dkirker's fork, which I would expect to be correct .

So if I had the time and knowledge, I just have to examine the Relego files and change the error message to, "Success!" For now, I'll just do that mentally...

Here, try this. I've updated it against the latest activity on github. It looks like someone did a pre3 height fix, and I tweaked the problematic response check on add article to test against only the first 6 characters of the response.

It had begun returning "200 OK^I", which seems to mess with the equality operator, but now tests correctly.

Wow! For me?! Amazing! I'll try it shortly!

Thanks very much! I'll now proceed with my plan to use every idle moment reducing my huge RSS backlog by quick sorting the interesting articles to pocket!

    UPDATE: Works perfectly! Thanks again!

Hmmm. I guess I should maybe make an entry on the Zombie list that points to your update... DONE!

Does anyone know if Feedspider ever got open sourced? I still use it daily, but I would like to make a few updates...
  10. #110
Aressel is pretty helpful usually. If you contact him he might simply open source it

I'm glad to see that someone is still making good use of this! Feedspider (Mojo) and Feedspider 2 (Enyo) were always open source. The only restriction was with the Enyo version around branding and distribution.

    The relevant GitHub repos are:
    https://github.com/OthelloVentures/feedspider
    https://github.com/OthelloVenturesLtd/FeedSpider2

I'm happy to accept pull requests and build a new version, I'll just need to dust off my rig that is set up for webOS builds.

How much interest is there in a new/cleanup release of Feedspider? Looking back in the GitHub, I have an Enyo 2.5 version that looks to be mostly, if not entirely complete, and I don't know why I didn't release it. I'd also need to (at a minimum) prune any services that shut down (like AOL Reader), and can take a look at bugfixes.

Would be great to have it! The Enyo version we can use on LuneOS too

I figured out why I never finished the Enyo 2.5 upgrade. I got most of the way through it, but needed to do extensive rewrites to the API layer for each service. At the time, I had finished the "The Old Reader" upgrade. I've gone through and done a similar upgrade for Inoreader.

If anyone is interested, I've attached a beta version that should work with The Old Reader and Inoreader. Beta 2 fixes an issue that caused folders to have duplicate feeds when the refresh all button is tapped. Please give it a try and let me know how it works. This should also work on LuneOS. There is a separate build attached that should work on LuneOS.

New builds. Should be finished removing most (if not all) of the prototypejs logic. Only InoReader is expected to work at this point.

More new builds! These correct issues that prevented swipe from working properly, more articles from loading, and read articles from being hidden.

    Please direct bugs/feedback to feedspider@feedspider.net!

Beta 5 looks great, with all the noticeable issues resolved!
I'll start using this on the daily, and see if it holds up as well as 2.0.8.
