Hi guys, I'm new to every aspect of this so please bear with me.
I got a Touchpad with CM7 a couple of months ago, and started using it about three weeks ago. I would like to upgrade to the more recent, smoother, better looking, etc CM9, but am not even sure how to start. From youtube vids I gather that the upgrade starts with the downloading of the latest CM9 nightly, ACMEInstaller2, and that Gapps file. But then, I hear about Novacom. What is it? Do I need it even though I'm only upgrading? And My Touchpad does not have any folder named cminstall. My computer does not have any related materials preinstalled as I got the tablet with CM7 already on it.
I would be grateful for anyone willing to help me out with a step by step "how-to" that I could use in conjunction with a youtube video, keeping in mind that I'm not a techie and would just like to watch videos, play games, and read comics on my Touchpad.
Thanks in advance, sorry for post length, and... please HELP.

Hey bonesrafael! Ncinerate has a great walk through here:

It explains how to uninstall cm7 before putting cm9 on there. I would recommend starting there. I don't have a link to a youtube video, but I was able to follow his directions perfectly. Also, I would read everything before doing anything first. Good luck!

Thanks Sylo. I'm still a little wary though since I'm still trying to figure out details like what is novacom? Do I need to install it first? (note: my computer hasn't encountered anything cyanogenmod before.) Do I create a Program Files\Palm, inc. since i don't have one?
I do thank you for the help and will proceed once I'm confident I've got the right idiotproof step-by-step guide.

I love physical keyboards... but there is two devices that would make me consider a slab, one is something running a full version of Open webOS. The other is an iPhone!!!! HA HA just kidding (about the iPhone that is)...

Regarding Novacom...easiest way is to install webOS quick install. Ncinerate also put up a walk through for first time touchpad users:

Here's the link to download webOS quick install:

There should be a prompt to download the novacom drivers. Hopefully that helps. Not as difficult as I thought it would be. Just follow step by step. And no, you don't have to create that folder you were asking about. I remember the walkthrough talking about that at some point, because I didn't have that folder either.
