News Update:
02 November 2014
I have developed a new release of CM11 (KitKat) for the HP TouchPad 4G. I am finally comfortable enough with this release to make it a general release -- it seems pretty stable. However, testing is limited and this release does not include Bluetooth Tethering or Wi-Fi Hotspot support. Please provide feed back in this forum with any issues.
This release is based on the Linux 3.0 kernel for the TouchPad developed by jcsullins and various Cyanogenmod code patches incorporated in his 15 October 2014 CM11 build for the HP TouchPad Wi-Fi version. It also incorporates the latest version of MBM HAL 4.0.0 BETA along with kernel drivers updated to support the MBM.
Note!!!: This release is a datamedia build. Be sure you understand the requirements before attempting to install this ROM.
Build downloads, support files, documentation, etc. are available here:
Android for the HP TouchPad 4G
Starting with this release, I have also produced a set of Release Notes. Please refer to these notes for full documentation and installation instructions.
Two versions of this release are available:
- One built for the HP TouchPad in native landscape mode (same as prior CM releases)
- One built for the HP TouchPad in native portrait mode (same as WebOS)
Acknowledgements:
Special thanks to those that made this possible: James Sullins for all his work on the TouchPad (and supporting everone else developing for the TP), flintman for his help with the device and kernel modifications necessary for the 4G platform, Dorregaray for the camea and sensor (gyroscope) development, gamer765 for testing 4G builds, numerous other HP TouchPad developers, and the MBM HAL developers. This build would not be possible without their efforts.

Feedback
These releases include a shell script that will produce log dumps for debugging. To use the script, you need Android Terminal with superuser support (or equivalent) installed. Open the terminal, type 'su' and enter, then type 'aldtf.sh' and enter. The logs will be created in /sdcard/logs (as a compressed file).
