My treo 650 has been really stable, but last week I noticed something interesting.
We went to a wedding of friends of ours in Holland and decided to drive.
Great way to give the satnav on the treo a good testrun.

Satnav software worked like a charm, but there was 1 problem: every time we entered a new country and switched providers (roaming) the treo reset itself..
On the way back it happened too, but when I turned of the phone after the dutch/belgium border it worked fine.

    Has anyone had this problem?

    I'm on Virgin Mobile (UK).

I've encountered similar behavior while roaming in the States if I have "Enable Local Network Time if available" checked in "Date & Time".

Mmm that could be part of the prob. indeed, however would not explain the prob. when crossing the FR-BE or BE-NL border since those are in the same timezone..

p.s. since driving from calais to Holland only takes about 4 hours (and 2 border crossing (3 if you include the UK-FR one) it got pretty annoying especially since it happened just before important exits..

In my case, it didn't have anything to do with timezones, just changing carriers. My resets happened in the same timezone, ie, when I left T-Mobile's area in Georgia and joined Cingular's in South Carolina (or vice versa); unchecking the network time option seemed to take care of it.

I had this problem when I went to Euro Disney recently.

I have not had this problem in the past when I have gone through the Tunnel on a booze trip to City Europe, when you can get constant changes of roaming suppliers.

The only difference is that I have recently had my 650 unlocked from Orange.

I'm still using Orange, but unlocked using a code generated by running PC software bought off Ebay.

As you are with Virgin you must also be unlocked, I assume.

I'm still running OUK software, not ROW. how about you?
    Thought of the day :
No sense being pessimistic, it probably wouldn't work anyway

I had a soft reset when i traveled from Zurich to Berlin.
In my case it was a Welcome-SMS from the German
    GSM provider that caused it.
