Voda GPRS charges are a bit hard to find - if you go to their mobile connect pages:

    http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cgi-bin/CO...cegjdgnfdffn.0

    Monthly charge
    11.75 5MB 2.35 per extra MB

    23.50 75MB 1.76

    53 450MB .88

    88.13 1000MB .59

Thanks for that. In that case, it does seem like Voda is expensive, although I guess there are not the "middle range" tariffs available similar to Orange.

I just switched from a 15 MB bundle (which Orange don't offer anymore) to the 25 MB bundle for 16. When I took it out 17 months ago the 15 MB bundle was 15 so prices are dropping

Thanks for the info. Is there really nothing between 5 and 75 MB? I use 20 or so MB per month and it would actually be cheaper for me to take out the 75 MB option than to go with 5 MB plus 15 MB out of bundle.

Toby, Cyril (if you're with Voda), what do think of Voda GPRS in terms of speed and reliability and persistence of connection?

Vodafone seems pretty good in terms of speed and reliability. A couple of weeks back I was using it pretty consistently on the train from London to Newcastle. However, I don't have anything to compare it with really...

I guess the other thing is that if/when Orange offer the 650 subsidised it may be much cheaper than getting an unlocked and using Voda...

I'm with Orange and a year ago GPRS in central London was quite patchy.

Now it seems much better. Not tried Vodaphone, but Tesco (via O2) GPRS
was pretty good, even in Switzerland and Spain.
