I just saw a post where a poster could not send SMS without it reseting. Bill Gamble our fearless mod suggested the poster put Filez on and delete a message_db. Now here is my thought, without TC this poster would have been forced to go to the store where they bought it or the carrier's store to get it fixed. Just think of all the trouble the Treo would cause with the resellers if there was no TC. This is just one example. I therefore think Palm and the carriers of these phones deserve to give TC and the community to which it serves a great big debt of gratitude for making the Treo what it is today. Say maybe a loyality discount. No really though, a letter or something would be nice. Tell me what do you folks think.

I agree completely! First off, I would never have gotten my Treo had it not been for the community here and all of the information to be found. Second, all of the advice on what best software to use or where to find such-and-such obscure program has made my Treo a much more valuable tool and saved me countless hours of research. Third, I'd have likely killed my Treo attempting ROM/firmware upgrades without having as much info available to me.

The depth of the Treo community is a major factor in the device's success!

    But yeah, What NRG said!

See, I don't always disagree with him.

Used to be, over at Brighthand, that one of the Palm VP's would send each of the mods a goody basket at Christmas...and nothing for the community-at-large. Alas, they stopped doing even that last year.

I'm afraid, my fellow TCers, that we must continue to labor - unrecognized and unappreciated - and content ourselves with the idea that, often, our advice is what actually makes the Treo usable for the average citizen.

Advise, and in the case of one community member, Jeff Gibson, software utility development. Were it not for VolumeCare, I would not be a Treo user.

It's just a huge community of people who have either tried something or have read about someone trying something and sharing it with others.

I personally got my bluetooth working, an awesome email solution and my battery replaced from great advice here.

Palm may not acknoweledge how great this site and its community are...
But for the record I have to say THANKS to everyone here!
This site has provided me with knowledge and certainly a LOT of laffs.
I would have ditched my Treo a long time ago if not for this site and the great third party developers.

And although I appreciate the third party developers, i will say this:
It is a shame that Palm does the job halfway, leaving the developers to clean up the rest. App development should not be necessary to fix a broken untested device but instead should be a compliment to an already working product.

    But surely i have digressed...

    THANKS TO EVERYONE!
