    Rome:

I'm not sure what your point is. I don't have a Treo 650, yet, but if the report that the phone sometimes won't answer when you're not in the phone app is true, then the 650 is a total failure as a phone. I see nothing inflamatory in the post you quote.

I have used six 650's so far and not seen this occur.

Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. There have been a number of issues that have been reported by some users of the 650 that other users of the 650 have never seen. (The delay in dialing and sound quality are on the other end of calls are two that come to mind.)

The 650 is a new product and a lot of new products have some initial problems when they first come off the line and usually the longer a product is in production the less of these defects you see as the failure rate is reduced. The 650 is not perfect and there are undoubtly a number of issues being addressed/discussed/discovered right now by the first batch of users. I think it's important for users to use forums like Treocentral to discuss these issues and if P1 is smart they'll follow these discussions and try and identify/fix problems.

Right now no one (except maybe P1 and Sprint) know what the true return rate is at this point. Given that, you could have looked at 100 650s which didn't display this defect and it still doesn't prove that some 650s don't have a problem of this nature.

I know Seldom pissed off people, and sometimes he was definitely childish, but I've seen a lot of childish behaviour here, welcome to the Internet. Still, I thought Seldom contributed something of value to board, and I think open debate is a good thing, and Seldom was a voice that was useful in contributing a counter point of view that's sometimes useful in generating a good exchange of ideas.

That said I've only read a fraction of his 1700+ posts so I'm not about to argue with the moderators on whether his ban was deserved or not. I will however personally miss his input.

(And for the record use of the word Nazi in the context of a discussion board about a cell phone is not only completely ridiculous, it's insulting to anyone who actually suffered at the hands of real Nazi's.)
Oh, so they have internet on computers now!

I know my experience doesn't cover everyone's. I had keyboard defects that not everyone has had.

I agree with your last paragraph most of all. I believe this whole thread should be tossed.

It is kind of sad and respectless isnt it? But I'm afraid that is the type of person we are dealing with... he is btw a clone of a banned user (guess who ) and hence banned too..
p.s. I changed it to 'nasty'

Too bad seldomvisitor got banned but he was foolish to attack the mods like he did. Some one with that many posts here should have known better than that. Anyway was he banned forever or just for specified time? Oh well...
