I went to that setting on my 680, I clicked the box for "use custom proxy", it says port 80 at the bottom, but is looks like it is asking for a server name, Do I have to put something in there to make it work? Or just click the custom proxy box and go?

I don't have either box checked on my treo.

This worked for me on a Cingular 680

I un-checked the "use default proxy" box, and BINGO... I'm loggged in.
Works fine now, tanks for the tip scottymomo!

np... the use carrier proxy thing on my 650 used to prevent downloads from finishing until someone pointed me in that direction. glad it's workin!

It must be a Cingular/proxy issue.

    I had no issues logging in using my Verizon 650, 700p, 700w, and 700wx. I just got a Cingular Treo 750 and the login 'does not stick'. Y I K E S!

    UPDATE:
It can be further proved that it's a proxy issue. After I applied the 'hack' (actually it's just one registry change) which removed the proxy I can now login w/o problems!
