I have yet to see anyone say to the new explanations...

    "you know...that makes sense"

    I said it before...

If ten people tell you your drunk...maybe you should st down.

As far as communicating through PM...all of the harder questions I have asked in that manner have been ignored.

I just read septimus' last post in the other thread. All I can say is WOW! Power, I must have the power. I can do no wrong.

Sorry Septimus, all are vulnerable to mistakes, yes even the mods. I feel your last post is an insult to the vast majority of the posters on this board. While I appreciate the work that the mods do in trying to keep the boards running smoothly I also appreciate open and honest dialogue between all involved. Too many long time posters and valuable members have said the same thing over and over in multiple threads and all have fallen on deaf ears. A wise thing for all to remember is the statement that Power Corrupts and absolute power (given or assumed) absolutley corrupts. For an example of this one need to look no further than the thread that was closed.

Redefining cordial was where i saw this train heading for a deep chasm. Changing the meaning words to suit your agenda doesnt bode well for a reasonable solution.

I still think marcus should be the one to put this to bed.

I'm off to find a way to use the "new" cordial in a sentence. See ya!

Exactly right. Same has happened to me. Some of the easy ones too.

So the policy is...only ask in PM, and maybe they'll answer, if they feel like it.

Dutch, did you ever receive an apology from the mod who chose to flame you and call you a name? I didn't think so.

It's a shame a few have ruined it for all...and I don't mean users. There are many hard working, thoughtful and respected mods. Their names are being tarnished by all of this nonsense.

Can we just stipulate to the fact that everyone is an a**hat and move on?

A few posters have gotten the brunt end of the 'moderating' stick and for that (as a fellow member) I appologize and feel sorry. That being said however, if anyone of those affected are holding out for an appology, I suspect if they haven't gotten one by now, they aren't going to get one.

'We' as a community have to move on...Im not sure what the point is in continuing to ask for something that will not be given. If we don't move on (everyone can determine for themselves what implications that may give rise to), then we are just wasting time.

I'm jealous. T2gungho can make his point without potty words. I can't.

Not that my input means a **** thing! But, I have to agree with Woof, Cardio, Dutch, Jo, and many others. This place was once fun to visit and hang out. Now, I find myself stopping by just to see if anything positive has been posted that might revive this place. Although, I rarely participated in the off topic discussions, I really enjoyed reading them. Some have stated that this place is to be "kid" friendly. I find it hard to believe that too many "young" Kids hang out here. Come on, a Treo discussion board for 13 year olds? I really don't think so. Most of the discussions in the Off Topic would be well over the heads of kids. I hope this place can get back to what it used to be. But, honestly, I think the damage has been done and the administration is supporting it's staff too well. I to support my staff. But, not to the point that business is hurt. And, if fewer people are hanging around, certainly business will be hurt.

I don't necessarily think this is what is happening. If people try to look at the moderation from an unbiased viewpoint, there were some threads that contained personal attacks, baiting, flaming, etc. There was moderating...obviously we don't all agree on how it was done. But the fact of the matter is that there are lots of topics in the off topic forum that are completely adult oriented...and the moderating in them has been relaxed since Septimus has been put in charge of the forum.

I do think it was a mistake (albeit a small one) to have Septimus be put on 'point' for this. I think (IMO) that Marcus should have come out, addressed the concerns and then planted Septimus in control. By Marcus not coming straight out but speaking through Septimus, it doesnt do as much to satisfy those who wanted his (Marcus) answers.

Either way, it's done. I don't think it's going to change. I wouldn't characterize the OT forum as being kid friendly but rather a level of respect for each others post has been increased (and in some cases demanded). That's a good thing no matter who you are.

But, in my opinion, there were several that were simply too sensitive and in many cases couldn't take a joke. "All" comments were not serious. I really feel that most were trying to have a good time. Then there were those that only showed up to cause a riot. When they got flamed, some couldn't take it and complained. Many could start it but couldn't take it. It was like kids running to their parents. This is just my opinion and doesn't mean a thing.
