I like using the little down arrow next to a thread title to go to the latest unread posts. However, if I leave the treocentral page on my browser unattended for a while, it will automatically assume I have read all the posts and they will no longer be in bold or have the arrow next to them.

This is also the case if I access the forums, then leave and come back later. I'd rather I actually got a chance to read the posts before they turn into 'old' posts.

Is there a way to choose how messages are marked as read?

There is a time-out setting that causes this after the prescribed period of inactivity or time between visits. It's currently set at 15 minutes and isn't a per-user setting.

That's why I have created my own search new post link because of that.

If I use the current new post link while I am reading, I get a phone call and talk a while, do email and come back, I find that the posts that I have not read disappeared from the view.

It's part of the vBulletin software and I've always felt it should be a per-user setting. Or there should be an easy way to get all new posts from any given point in time.

I suppose there are pros and cons of any forum software. The rest of the site works pretty well as you would expect.

"view first unread" on the mobile T/C still does not work properly if there's more than 1 page in the thread. Instead of taking you to the first unread post it takes you to the top of the last page of the thread. Some say it's a blazer issue. Stll annoying.
