It took me actualy switching to another device to realize all the thing the treo really lack.ed At one point I was what you could call a treo cheerleader. I felt the treo was the best phone pda combinatio, the most stable as compared to the rest, and the all around best value. Boy was I wrong. After playing with other device, and other operating system, I realize the treo, and most of the palm platform sucks. A lot of people are not going to agree with me, but a while ago I wouldn't have also.

The treo lacks reliability, and multitasking.

Now treocentral is a good source of info regarding the treo, but not a good source of info regarding anything else. Matter of fact everyother device is hated on lol on treocentral. People tell miss truth about other devices, and lie about the reliability of the treo.

There are many, many treo killers out here, and they are not had to find

    Interesting you should say that.

This is TreoCentral and its focus is the Treo product. Why would you think otherwise? Thank you for your participation anyway.

As has already been said, this is TreoCentral, not SomeOtherPDAPhoneCentral. We're Treo-centric and not meant to be the leading place for info regarding other devices.

Matter of fact everyother device is hated on lol on treocentral.
Other devices aren't hated here... just their users that think we should cater to every PDA/Handheld ever made.

By your own admission: "a while ago I wouldn't have also". Does that mean you're one of the hated Treo-liars too???

If you've found something that works for you, great. You should never use any device because someone said so. You need to choose them based on your personal needs.

HELLO. It's called TREOcentral & some of us are here because we like Treos & not necessarily because we dislike the other smatphones.
I am someone who sticks with what has proven to work for me. So I will stay w/the Treo until it becomes not the device for me.

I find the focus on the Treo helpful and I visit other sites that cover all ranges of devices. The only issue I have is the huge slant towards Palm OS and a real or preceived bias towards Palm OS. Now that the Treo is going to be going both Palm OS and Windows Moble OS there could be a happy medium but like other forums that are Palm OS centric some users just won't accept that WMOS is better for some and not others.

Again its TreoCentral so Palm Treo users need to get over the fact that its not PalmOS Treo Central anymore.

The preference to choose non-MS software is the terminology I accept.

Honestly yes I would have been. Like I said I never really used another pda phone combo. IF someone would have suggest a WM, or BB, or anyother device I would have told them that the Treo was better. and hated on the others.

yeah but the focus is also Bias, and at Times Totally wrong. new Treo users or prospective Treo user are misled to what the treo functions are, and it's true reliebility.

I am really interested to see the attitude changes from the people on the board once the WM Treo comes out. having a Treo was almost like owning a Mac or Using Linux. Anti Microsoft and it's Monopoly, now Palm has joined with the devil. I want to see if the attitudes towared WM change.

That's because the Palm OS is
However, it does need to be updated now, which is why I cannot buy another Palm OS device.

WM5 is better on other devices, by the way. It has not been done justice on the 700w.
HP has officially ruined it's own platform and kicked webOS loyalists and early TouchPad adopters to the curb. You think after you drop it like a hot potato and mention it made no money and is costing you money, anyone else wants it??? Way to go HP!!

And some people are fools to keep believing their hype. HP has shown they will throw webOS under the bus and people are still having faith in them??? News flash: if it's own company won't stand behind it, it's finished!

    1. Treo 650 IS the best IMO. Even the WM5 phones I've been looking at either lack a keyboard, or are a bit cumbersome looking to operate one-handed. Stabilty, I can't comment on as I never loaded a lot of software on it, but I never had a reset.
    2. It is from what I have seen in GSM. All the really good GSM WM5 devices are quite expensive(with keyboard) or the same price(no keyboard). CDMA appears to be a bit different.
    3. I did too, but can't reach the same conclusion. WM5(the only other mobile OS I ever really tried) isn't that super IMO. And the 650 form factor is still the best IMO.
    4. Come on, what did you think TREO CENTRAL should mean? Dead giveaway that the site is Treo-centric.
    5. No device(in the same class) really kills another IMO. People just prefer some over others. Different needs and opinions.

JMO, same as you have yours.

I will to trade all 3 Treo 600, 1gig SD card, Treo 300, and like 3 cables, and chargers for a Treo 600/650 Unlocked/GSM,

U posted this in the "For/Sale" Section.. Why do u want a 650???
  12. #13
I started out on PalmOS devices Vx, M505, Tungsten T, NX60 Treo 600 and finally gave up after the Treo 600, talk about low end screens 160*160. But WM OS has its quirks, problems and yes work arounds. But in the end I found it more useable for what I needed but a Treo form factor with Palm Treo tweaking was my ultimate goal and now its finally coming true.

So my hope and dream is Treo Central is truly Treo Central and OS agnostic since it now in my opinion the best form factor for those who want this type of convergence has the best of both worlds, Palm and WindowsMobile. Its now a choice of OS and from Palm hardware.

What are you the Treo Central Detective LOL

I choose the Sidekick at my main Device, but I still want the option to have a Treo Just because I have 3 600's and 1 300. instead of going through the hassle of Trying to sell them on Ebay, I would have gave them all Away for something I could use as a Back up "unlocked GSM Phone"

The sidekick might be a 'treo-killer' to him. Im betting that 95% of us wouldn't consider it a treo-killer though.
