I tried leaving install off, but I think the problem starts with placing the script on the device. I am getting that error 5 and even though it shows it on the device I am guessing it is not actually making it fully on there. I don't know.

If this was to my problem, I have downloaded the file three times.

Ok, so I got the 720 to install, rebooting now. No Error 5 trying to place file on the device. I would prefer the 800MHz patch though, so if anyone knows what the problem may be please let me know.

suruat: try the 720 and see if that works for you, because we had the exact same problem with the 800.

edit: rebooted twice and it is indeed running at 720MHz. Very nice, though I would still like the 800.

My only concern is when the phone booted up it was at 34 degrees, now already up to 38 after 15 minutes of use. This will require some watching on my part.

I've installed the 800MHz patch without a hitch. My initial impressions are that this has resulted in substantial speed increases in the browser, email, camera and Tweed. I'm impressed and very pleased.

THANK YOU!

Rob

Not a bad one I guess. The 720 is working for me, the 800 isn't. Bad/corrupt file is very possible. After three tries though I have no idea.

Is that exactly how you typed it in? Capitalize the H in 720MHz and see if that works for you.....and yeah, safer to remove the 800 file first.

Try to compare your files with those of ollip79 ( 3 posts up)

root@palm-webos-device: ls -l /var/home/root
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3267933 Mar 25 11:35 720MHzOS14.sh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3267933 Mar 25 11:14 800MHzOS14.sh

You got same sizes and rights he got?

Had not checked that before. Actually, even after (I thought) removing the 800 file it is showing up with this command. I see:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3267933 Mar 25 05:33 720MHzOS14.sh
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Mar 25 02:27 800MHzOS14.sh
