Did anyone else get this same error when installing on 1.4.1?

Prior to 1.4.0, I had been using the phone almost 9 months and never had a spontaneous Luna restart (or reboot for that matter).
No it definitely rebooted (full restart). I know the difference. It took a few minutes to boot up, I was actually staring at the "non-glowing" Palm logo considering pulling the battery, but I let it run its course and it eventually booted.

Ok Caj, I think I may have missed my point. I wanted to know the user reported issues with the 720/800 kernel on 1.4.1, so I can lookout for them and determine if I have experienced them already (without the 720/800 kernel installed) to see if they may be unrelated to the kernel and maybe related to 1.4.1.

Yikes! It would appear that you either ran out of disk space (Flash space) or your .sh file was corrupt or truncated. I hope it didn't frakk your phone, since you might end up with some files from the old kernel and some from the new!

Really, for something this important, md5sums should be posted for the files to verify the are correct first (or do these shar files have some self-validation first, before untarring?)

hey caj, can you describe some of the issues others have come across on 1.4.1?

If that's directed at me, I'm installing the 720Mhz Kernel as we speak. As far as crashing with the 600 .ipk, I don't blame the patch at all. I think it was more related to the heavy load I was putting on my Pre (BT streaming seems to really bog down the Pre). Sorry if I made it sound like the patch caused it.

Read the first post. You have to type in a command in WOSQI

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I'm on Verizon, so it looks like it's going to be another couple weeks before I get it. I've reinstalled the 800MHz patch & disabled the auto update... I'll enable it & take the 800MHz off when it's annouced that Verizon is getting the update!

Ok, I'm back in action as well. I thought the 600 patch could hold me off for a couple days, but I was wrong. I'm at 720 again, and I hate using my Pre without it. Everything looks good so far, no more stutter on scrolling through the music collection. I'll report back if any issues.

tried the 800 patch again with 1.4.1 and it seems fine no heat indication yet, I also am alpha testing the cpu scaler ultimate with the kernal and its very very nice, once its public it will be very helpful with every overclocking kernal.

(It is not a patch, it is a replacement kernel)

I was afraid of that. It looks like you will have to use the Dr. thing to restore your phone to factory defaults

At least- look at the bright side- it should be nice a clean and ready to install the kernel again.

Check the size and md5sum's of the downloaded files this time, firs. I have verified that both of these are working files:

$ ls -l *sh
-rw-rw-r-- 1 crxssi crxssi 3267933 2010-04-02 16:30 720MHzOS14.sh
-rw-rw-r-- 1 crxssi crxssi 3267933 2010-03-28 21:11 800MHzOS14.sh

$md5sum *sh
