One of the best features so far is that they seem to have fixed the "Too Many Cards" error when you don't have any cards open. You no longer need to switch airplane mode on and off or reboot in order to play a 3D game. I was just able to launch Glyder, Tetris, and Earthworm Jim sequentially with only a brief pause between each. I couldn't do that before.
The update continues to impress

edit: Sorry, silly question since 1.4 hasn't hit Verizon yet. |

Minor but useful undocumented feature.
Prior to 1.4 if you were just sitting at your desktop with no cards (such as immediately following a reboot) and started typing, it would do nothing at all. Now it launches universal search, which is the logical thing to do. Universal Search seems to be a bit quicker too and narrows in on what I want fast enough to avoid annoying scrolling more often. Web browser seems to multi-task a bit better. I'm finding I can start zooming in on pages while they're still loading, where before it would ignore my taps until it was done loading, then play them all back at once. ian |

They're stored in .mp4 files, and they're 640x480@20fps with a variable data rate that is at minimum about 1.7Mbit/s. Quality is pretty decent. ian |

Reboot the phone and when you see the desktop try typing. It just ignores it. If you launch an app and close it, returning to the desktop, then it works as expected. ian Last edited by Daemon; 02/27/2010 at 04:59 AM. |

When you're setting a time for an appointment in the Calendar, or setting the time for an alarm in the Clock, the rotating selector now extends completely from the top of the screen to the bottom.
This makes it a lot easier to choose the time that you want without as much scrolling--particularly for the minute increments. I LOVE all of these hidden little features
