I have two issues while playing MP3 files that I thought I'd see if anyone has any insights about...
I've been using Music Player (Remix)... First, tracks will sometimes start playing, stop after the first 10-15 seconds then start over at the beginning. Both Remix and not do this. Irritating. Second, really long tracks (Audible audio books) stop playing before the end of the track. Maybe a couple minutes before the end. Shorter tracks (tunes) don't seem to do this. Related, "rewinding", sometimes, will not actually rewind but will start again just were you were. Fine adjustments seem to be out of the question. I'm not certain these are player related or MP3 related. If anyone has any ideas on how to address these please share! Thanks!

I love to listen to books in my car and do not want to fiddle with my Pre while driving. So it's frustrating. I love my Pre, but there are times when I wish I still had my old Treo 700p listening ability - it remembered where I left off, no need to bookmark and it allowed me to select a series of MP3 files to load and play in order. Instead the Pre treats each file as a separate file and mixes them up with my music files. I'll be listening to a book and suddenly that file ends in ReMix and I'm listening to Ry Cooder (not that I don't like that music, but not in the middle of a good mystery!) Susan in No. CA |

For the other recipients who thought it might be something to do with their ripping, it's not. These are .mp3s downloaded from RSS feeds directly to the pre or else downloaded via my PC and then copied via USB mode. And yes, I made sure that the .mp3 had transferred before disconnecting. I think that there's something funny going on between the rate of play and the track timing. I recall PocketTunes or Kinoma suffered from something similar in very early versions in that the countdown timer would get to zero before the end of the track. Maybe the author of drPodder might be able to shed some light on this. Andrew |
