What version of webOS do you have on your Pre?
Is webOS Doctor in the same folder as Quick Install on your computer?

If you mean on the phone yes i did the oran-sym restart and the pc. I got 2.72 of web-os all i did was try to upgrade the preware when i saw it , my dumb a** should have read the forum first. I have uninstalled every thing and reinstalled everything a hundred times. Webos just dont see it.

Sorry for the trouble you're having.

I can only suggest the following:

Make sure your phone is updated to WebOS 1.2.1
Remove/reinstall webOS Quick Install on your pc
Manually install Novacom by going in WebOSQuickInstall and in the menu File->Options, then press the "Attempt Novacom (re)installation" button.
Make sure that your phone is in Dev. Mode and connected to pc via "Just Charge." (I emphasize these points because I have made these mistakes several times).

If these steps fail, you might want to read and/or post in this thread if you haven't already.

That's all I can think of right now. Maybe some of the others on this board, with much more knowledge than I have, can offer other suggestions.

I hope you get this resolved. I know how frustrating it can be.

I edited my last message to include suggestion to manually install Novacom (third bullet point). Just wanted to make sure you saw it.

(wqi 2.72 work on my old phone just got a new phone and got this message)

Hey does anyone know what the Data Usage does? Like if I turn it off, does ONLY WiFi work from then on? Do I have to keep on switching it to make it work when I'm not near Wifi?

I have been trying to update with no luck. Everytime I click teh update app it says "checking for updates" that it never does anything else I have reset/rebooted no joy. ANy help?

As a place to start, I would suggest you read this thread that describes in detail the process required to install homebrew apps on your Pre. Scroll down to the "Installation and Usage Guide" (post #2) for help with the installation of webOS Quick Install. Try not to be intimidated by the process.

I haven't seen this issue posted yet:

When I receive a call while the phone is locked, I used to be able to click the on/off button once to silence the ringer or twice to ignore the call. Clicking twice to ignore the call still works, but clicking once does not silence the ringer.

This issue first appeared after installing 1.2 and is still there after installing 1.2.1.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Have you done a reboot?

Pressing power button silences an ongoing ring for me in 1.2.1.
Pressing a volume button does too.

Yup, same here. Volume and power buttons silence the ringer when locked with 1.2.1.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I have rebooted but the issue is still there. I had forgotten you could use the volume button to silence the ringer. I'll try that on my next call.
