here is a text-based re-enactment for your amusement:

* new email notification pops up
* i touch the envelope icon to go to my inbox, as i can see it's a message i don't want to read
* i swipe the unread message to the right to delete
* it appears as unread in my trash folder
* pre notifies me that i have new mail (same message, now in the trash)

this is on a pop account.

to confirm, if i simply swipe the new mail notification right to dismiss it, it does not reappear. if i read the email then delete, it does not notify again. this is the exact same problem myself (and many others) have had since 1.1. wanted to notify you all that it is not fixed in 1.2.
I was having that issue after 1.1, but not since updating to 1.2. For me, 1.2 seems to have fixed it.

Has anyone had an issue with SMS messages arriving late? I have begun to recieve messages hours after they have been sent to me. The timestamp is correct on the message. This is causing some major problems for me (needed to pick up supplies for project on way to work this morning-couldn't since I just got the message now at 10:53 AM). I suspect it may be a Sprint thing, or that is the reply that I suspect. That is likely, but I never recieved any late messages before the update.

Aside from this, I love the update! My device feels much snappier!

i think when Sprint send messages late you get a notification in the message that it was late... if they are showing up late with a regular time stamp with no indication that it was received by the system and you happen to get it late... that might be a Palm issue... or maybe a Sprint issue. i sent a whole bunch of messages today and got quick responses... so my 1.2 update is not showing any evidence of this. did you have good service during the time you were supposed to have gotten the messages?

As far as I can tell, all other elements and icons themed as I remember them. Perhaps the locations or names of these elements is not the same in 1.2 as it was in 1.1?

I had the same issue with the blue theme, when I "restored" my phone it all went fine but I couldn't repeat the process. After the restore, my battery icon now shows green for not 100% as prior to the update. Is there a way to fix this or are we waiting for a new quick install so I can fix the battery icon issue, otherwise just waiting to re-theme my phone!

Ok. We're good there. But my preferences are GONE (speed dial, photo dial, web pages I had saved, etc.), my messaging conversations are gone, etc. Thank God my pics are still there or I'd have been argh!

So my question is WTH?? Is this because of the over-the-air update? I'm NOT happy....
+1 same thing happened to me.. thankfully all my contacts were saved, but it sucks that all my conversations and bookmarks were deleted. in the future, is there any way to back these up? i miss how my centro would hotsync and EVERYTHING would be saved, from wallpaper to messages to preferences.

question: is the pre able to do this? i have yet to even connect it to my pc bc i always thought it only displays as a USB drive.

Just as an FYI, pre-1.2, I once experienced receiving a txt msg from someone and having that single message appear 43 times spread throughout the course of the conversation. I restarted the phone and then only saw the msg once in the conversation. So this issue might pre-date 1.2.

edit: Oh, yeah, I haven't experienced the OP's symptom at all in 1.2.

Palm shouldn't be telling us they're saving our files in the "cloud", if they're not saving ALL our files in the cloud!!! And if they're going to erase our files by forcing us out of our profile, WARN US SO WE CAN SAVE OUR STUFF!!!

Wow, I can't believe the lack of consideration. Is that what this is? Or should the title of this post read "CLOUD STORAGE FAIL"? Not sure what others have experienced, but this really hoses me as I use my notes, calendar and tasks religiously to manage my life... which is what I thought we were supposed to be using the phone for.

My contacts are gone too. Just noticed that.. I figured my homebrew would be gone, but my contacts??

Should all this stuff be in the "cloud", and just didn't get loaded to my phone? In which case maybe Sprint could do a re-load? Or do you think it just didn't get saved to the cloud?? My photos are there..

Yep... this is what happened to me, too, except my contacts ARE there so thank goodness for that! (Though a while back I entered all the addresses in my contacts and those mysteriously disappeared...I'll have to fix THAT before Christmas card time - thankfully I still have my centro info on my laptop!)

Strangely enough though, I just went to device info and it's still showing that I'm running 1.1???? I thought Palm "pushed" 1.2 and that was why I had this "offline" problem this morning. Very weird.... any help?

Same thing happened to me. Did the update right before MNF, all things good very happy, put it on the charger and i wake up to it saying Im not connected to my Palm account. Reconnected watched it reboot and the phone looks like it did when I bought it.. same wallpaper and everything.. Apps are rearranged but it kept my contacts, photos and palm apps however all of my homebrews are gone! Why did this happen and why didnt it happen when we did the initial update? Why did it happen after the fact?

Exchange is working perfectly fine with mine, and even Push IMAP/Enhanced IDLE/IDLE Imap works fine.

I'm not too happy about the changes to the GPS options, but I'm still digging through it all.

This is the message that's on the screen:
SIGNED OUT
You are no longer signed in to your
Palm Profile on this phone.

If you plan to use this phone again, you
can leave the files on your USB drive
intact.

If you're done using this phone, you
can erase all your data on the phone
and return to its factory default.

JUST RESTART
ERASE ALL DATA

Now mind you I've tried restarting it idk how many times in addition to erasing all of the data and still nothing. It just comes back to the same screen. I've even removed the battery and tried doing a hard reset and the same thing happens. So my phone is officially shot!

Just curious, I thought I saw somebody somewhere say that when you update to 1.2 it completely wipes out exsiting Text Messages? Is there any truth to that and if so, is there a work around? We currently have some important recent conversations that we refer back to on a regular basis.... Do you think they will fix that issue? If so, looks like I won't be updating for awhile (if I have a choice)!!!

lite.facebook.com is the way to go, in my opinion.

prior to 1.2, when the screen was locked and off, the notifications would pop up, turning the screen back on for a few seconds and go back off (for any notification, not just ringer switch). it seems like that went away with 1.2. has anyone else noticed this? (i still have it set to display notifications while locked)

I am having the same problem. When I see the alert and select it I can read that email. That is the only thing I can read. When I go to one of my accounts all I see is the header with the email count showing I have emails but none are displayed. When I go to the main email account page all I see is like jenbeast, only the account title. Bummer.

you can tap the emergency call icon in the notification area, erase '911' from the dialer, type in ##786#, enter your MSL (you'll have to get it from Sprint) and let it reset then reboot. Should be good to go after that. BUT, ALL DATA WILL BE LOST!!

I did have good service. The same level that I always have anyways (which is typically 2-4 bars). I don't seem to have a problem sending messages, but recieving them has been the issue. We tested it at work today and out of 4 messages sent from 4 different people (on 3 different providers-ATT, Verizon, Sprint) I recieved 2 of them right away and 2 of them I have yet to recieve. I suspect that it is a Sprint issue, but it does seem strange that this just started to happen after the update.

call sprint and complain and get money off your bill. i remember this happening to me when i had the Treo 800w (just got ****** chills) and i complained... they were accommodating.
