Official webOS 1.2.1 New Features & Changes Found
1 2 3
4 5 6
Didn't see this in a quick scroll-through of the features noticed. Pre now forces you to comply with Exchange password protection policy if your institution has it enabled. Funny, I was just thinking today about how I was sneaking one past security and should probably put in a password, and lo and behold, 1.2 closes the loophole anyway!

The two above issues were only there for me in 1.1. At least one is now fixed in 1.2.
It appears as if swiping down no longer works, but if you hit the center button, it will minimize again.

This is in the phone preference. It is under data usage.

I just noticed while on a call and reading this thread that it showed a timer for my call next to the persons name.

You can now start a universal search with a symbol, like
- "atilla the hun" rap song -
Before, if you tried to start with a ", it would give you the letter o instead.

I found the LinkedIn changes. Just go into contacts, add a new account, and you can choose LinkedIn now in addition to the usual exchange, gmail, and facebook. I tested it out and it works great. It's almost identical to how facebook works, but it pulls the info from LinkedIn.

Weird. There's a reference to a (so far nonexistent) Palm Twitter application in the global-search javascript file.
I know that there's always been the Twitter Search but this is new.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but Amazon MP3 songs can now be downloaded via EVDO as well as WAN and WI-FI. (I don't see the EVDO option listed on page one.)

Two things about the App Catalog: There's a little shopping bag in the bottom right corner that will list all of your installed apps and you can delete installed apps from there also. I couldn't delete one of my homebrewed, but I could delete the ones that are installed via the App Catalog

It can only select paragraphs. You cannot select individual words. I know, doesn't really make sense?
Copied from Palm's 1.2 update notes, key word in bold...
The browser now supports paragraph selection, cut, copy, and paste on web page text. A yellow highlight appears to indicate paragraph selection.
In 1.1, when you you were composing an email but wanted to close and NOT save that email, I believe the option under the dropdown menu was "cancel". It has been changed to "Discard Email". Minor change, but makes a little more sense!

I use the Sprint Nav a lot, and noticed that the lady's voice changed...it's more pleasant now (not as shrill) and has better enunciation. Also, it brings up the directions faster. (Everything else is the same in the Sprint Nav.)

My auto correct edit stuff is gone, not the stock stuff, but the stuff I change with the "auto correct edit" program. I also haven't seen an update to the program.
UPDATED 2 WEEK OLD PRE NO HACKS OR HOMEBREW
I only got the one update (79mb)
Things are quicker overall on my Pre (i.e. cards opening and closing, switching between cards, web scroll quicker, etc.)
PDF app has been moved from built-in apps to downloaded apps (version # the same), this may have something to do with newness some have seen.
Nascar went from 1.14 to 1.15
Clock from 1.1 to 1.2
NFL from 1.25 to 1.26
Help from 1.0.21 to 1.2
Phone from 1.1 to 1.2
I think Nav and sprint tv changed as well (not sure, I don't remember seeing them before)

Just got a meeting request via the exchange server at work. I replied via the Pre, and then checked my email account on the PC. There is a real email message reply sent back to the meeting originator now (before the Pre said it was sent, but nothing ever was).
Finally I can reply to a meeting message from the Pre now! Yay!!

It can, but once you do, all the email addresses from LinkedIn appear to be locked into "Home" category, and you can't edit them. Most of those addresses are business.
I had several ongoing conversations in the messaging app. After the 1.2 update, all of the contact pictures showing in the messaging app disappeared, although the pictures still exist in the contact app itself.

the other thing I have notice is by this time of the day, with the memory hog of an app "slideshow" I'm normally getting the too many card open warning and start shutting some of my cards... 5 hours into my day and nothing yet, opening emails, clicking on links from tweed and no pop up yet!! that is much improved from what I'm used to by this time of the day...

Looks like the font changed across the board for Email font style after 1.2 update. Tested with Gmail, Yahoo, and Exchange. Sending from Pre, font displays as Verdana 12 pt for Exchange, 8pt for Gmail and Yahoo.... Bug or Intentional? Was Times New Roman 12 pt for Exchange before the update I know that.
I don't mind it for Yahoo or Gmail, but it looks way too big and unprofessional on Outlook Desktop Client. Hopefully we can get an answer soon. Anyone?

wow, pleased to report... I did a lot of complaining when I 1st downloaded this update but man, I'm having a change of heart... I'm 6.5 hour into my day, I have had Pandora, slideshow (with a 432 photo folder @ 3.5mb per picture), tweed, text/IM, email, and 3 browsers... Answering emails (3 accounts), and text, tweed updating every 15 mins, and slide shows set to every 5 mins and normally by now I have a memory bomb! Usually I have to take it down to 2 or 3 cards before it starts running ok, but NOOOO not with the update, rock solid! hit the center button, shrinks with no studder, flip back and worth between cards flawlessly! Even moving the cards positions from the end to the begining and everywhere in between with all this still running mind you, not a hickup! I'm truely liking this update (minus the hickup with the charging and the app catalog) but wow!
