Sorry if this has been asked before, but is it necessary to delete and reinstall an application to get the latest version? There is a new version of Prepod today, but I have no idea how to update the current version installed on my phone.

The couple of application updates that I have done I have just downloaded/installed and it appears to have installed right over the older version. I did this through filecoaster and with the filecoaster update.
I wondered the same thing as you and went ahead and did it to see. |

just posted a thread in the "apps and software" forum (seemed appropriate..?) confirming how a homebrew app updates when it goes "official": http://forums.precentral.net/webos-a...-official.html

I downloaded an app called PreUpdate from the Preware repo using PreLoad (pimp my pre's installer).
It looks like they have access to Precentral's homebrew repo so when you open up the PreUpdate app it will give you a list of all your apps installed on your Pre and it will say if there is an update available or if the app is already up to date. If it says up to date then just check back periodically to see if an update is available. If it say an update is available simply click on the app (on the PreUpdate screen) and it will automatically update the app. It will tell you that it downloaded successfully. It has worked great for me. |
