seriously dude, I knew nothing of this stuff before starting. Just rest assured knowing webos dr has your back and follow webos internals instructions. You can have it rooted in like 10 mins if you have a good connection. And with web doctor if you screw something up you can do a restore. I've had to do like 3

Garrett, I really want to do the dialer, but I am still editing with VI!! Moving that many files will take years to type out...what do you use? I looked into sftp, but it still seems like ill be typing these in by hand...

I updated my last post with instructions. Just make sure they are named correctly when you copy them over to /luna-systemui/images/ or they wont work. For example, if you put the new files on your Pre in USB mode:

cp /media/internal/red-rssi-0.png /usr/lib/luna/system/luna-systemui/images/rssi-0.png

Updated list. Instead of putting all my files here, I put them on MediaFire to make it easier.

Current list of bar colors:
Blue
Green
Orange
Pink
Red
Teal
Yellow
White

Blue EV icons (dormant/connected)
Blue 4G icons (dormant/connected)

I wish I knew what I was doing to change all this stuff. I'm scared of messing anything up.

Did you mount your filesystem as read/write?

mount -o remount,rw /

I did. Now If i am doing this right I would open Putty to mount -o remount,rw / then move the edited files into the /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.phone/*.* folder through the sftp program?
