Hmm, on the screen itself or the touch screen portion? Could just be those circles you see when you wear polarized glasses? Where it's on the plastic itself, and not the screen? idk.

What it is, its brighter in those 2 areas.. they are the same exact size as the two buttons in the web browser.. I'm noticing a lot of people have this same problem

tntsniper, I think I'm having a similar issue. I bought two Pres this morning... the one with the bright distortions at the bottom is also running about 5 times hotter than my wife's Pre while doing nothing! My initial guess is that the distortion is due to the heat near the bottom of the device. I'm feeling pretty nervous about this

humm mines not running hot, but there is distortion.. does hers have any distortion? I went back and looked at a few and they all had a bit, some worse then others.. and also some had stuck/dead pixels.. so I'm not sure *** to do.. I'd rather have this minor issue then have a dot on my screen thats there the whole time.

*btw i looked at the display units, another guy that i knew.. all had some, some worse then others, very inconsistent. Its def going to be a huge problem.

Ya.. I did notice that on full brightness mine is brighter then my other one... I dunno its not really getting in the way too much.. you can only see it on very few things.. I'll just have to see.. We have 30 days.. I'm more concerned of what I'll get in return haha.

I'll get some shots of mine as soon as I'm done copying these videos over... you can't see the distortion when in USB mode because the bottom of the screen is all black anyway.

I'm terrible at taking pictures so I hope you can see this at the bottom... it looks like what happens when an LCD gets too hot or you apply too much pressure to it.

Several people have not only reported multiple crashing while launching the browser, but also overheating and distortion as you've reported here. This is becoming a real concern.

yeah, that ones going back. I'd prolly wait a few days though. I'm looking at a dead pixel on mine...nothing that I can't deal with while figuring it out. But if the next one has issues than I may be waiting out a few shipments before getting another one!

hmm. I don't notice anything. Though, if you go into contacts and pay attention to the bottom of the screen, everything is crisp until the add contact button rises then the bottom part up to the top of the button vertically gets hazy. Maybe a software issue? Do you see the distortion with the default background / home screen?

The distortion is difficult to see when there are colorful images at the bottom of the screen. Only when the area is all one color (other than black) can you see the distortion.

Mine has these splotches as well. Especially noticable on a white screen. An exchange is in order, but I will have a hard time finding one--plus I will have to wait in long lines

Now that you pointed it out, I see it on mine as well... two indistinct light splotches towards the bottom corners of the screen. It's more obvious if you tilt the phone downward a bit and look from above. My phone is pretty hot right now from charging on the Touchstone, so I'll wait to see if it goes away after it cools. I suspect it IS temperature related.
