Anyone noticing a little distortion?

So is this officially a defect, or is it "just the way it is"?
I find it odd that not one single person, in all of the reviews, preview, and first impressions, has ever mentioned this issue. It took me all of about five minutes of using the device to notice it.

Yeah, its true. Frickin incredible. Many people are reporting this.

I think the units given out for reviews were probably screened very carefully for all defects, including this one. It looks like they are having quality control issues, with this problem and dead pixels. Too bad. How could they not see these issues before shipping the devices?

I see you freaking out in a lot of different threads. Think you can tone it down a little bit? Did you even buy a Pre?
My wife's Pre is perfect, no screen blemishes and no dead pixels.

Download and launch Pandora. It's glaringly obvious there, and I don't see it in other places.

Who's freaking out? Just reporting observations. Can I do that, Micah?

Mine has the same distortion at the bottom. Undecided whether I'll return or not. I want to play with the phone awhile and see if there are any other quirks.

I suspect it IS temperature related.
I thought the same thing, so I unplugged it and let it cool down nicely to room temperature. Distortions are still the same as when the device was burning up in my hands.

I'm definitely going to return mine if I can. Of course, I'll probably have to wait until next week when they get more units in, and I'll make sure and check the next one before leaving the store.

Your observations are all second hand :P You also keep posting "I was afraid of this... yep I was afraid this would happen." It's like you're part of a mob trying to get it riled up

Don't worry about MicahDG...
MicahDG needs to chill and worry about his/her pre instead of what people are saying. Not that serious. LOL
Oh, no the pre sucks and the mob wins. Right... lol
Sounds like some minor issues with the pre so far...
Oy I am getting the same distortion issues, and its annoying, it occurs right next to the area that you plug the microusb into. I am gonna head in tomorrow and see if they have any units left to exchange, and if they don't wait till next week.

I'm getting distortion problems in the upper left and lower right corners. Not that big of a deal as it's not too noticeable but kind of annoying. I feel like if I drop this much money on a phone I shouldn't have issues like this.

I've got the two little blobs of light on the lower left part of the screen as well. Glad to know it's not just me, but disappointed to know that it's not just me...
I'm gonna take it back in a couple weeks. I'm hoping that all the custom ringtones and everything that I set up transfer over. Heard they didn't, and that will suck.

Mine has distortion in the same place... On the right side of the screen, next to the charging outlet. Not a big deal, but a little annoying.

Same here, across the bottom just above gesture area. Will be interesting to see how this resolves.
Love the device otherwise.
I guess that's a positive about having to wait till august to get mine. I still wish i could get mine now though...

I've got it too.. No heating issues; but very visible distortion on the bottom.. I'm gonna return in a few days.

Nope, you got it right, Micah... this guy defintiely has it in for the Sprint Pre. Not sure the motivation, but he's the same guy who was swearing that Verision was going to put out their own "improved" version in 6 months.
And treobk, you aren't just reporting... you are "confirming" things - impying you own a Pre... which you don't.
By the way... I think this so-called distortion has more to do with the color/background of the app you are using. I see similar "sploches" in the SprintTV app only... other apps, I don't see it. I doubt this is a hardware thing, because if it were, I'd see it all over, wouldn't I?
