I found a keyboard shortcut to show a list of emoticons (see attached image) on accident today. Press the Option key + Spacebar to access it. So far it only works in messaging (I tried messaging, e-mail, and memos). I have a Pre 2 with webOS 2.1, so I don't know if this is in webOS 1.4.5 or not.

UPDATE: I just used the bypass activation tool on my Pixi Plus (1.4.5) and this was NOT in the messaging application. I guess that means it's a webOS 2.x feature.

Only downside to this method is that they are 'without noses', so instead of : - ) for a smile, you have : ) and this doesn't always register on other phones.

I wonder if there's a way to edit this using Internalz...?

Oh yeah- in webOS 1.4.5 there's a patch that will show you all the emoticons in their punctuation form. You can also see them all by pressing any letter and then pressing the SYM key, IIRC.

I find it faster just to type the emoticons on my own rather than using a menu, but I thought this was pretty cool. All phones are different on which emoticons show pre-loaded images so if it doesn't show one on someone else's phone, they still know what I mean.

I like to hold SYM then press K repeatedly to cycle through the basic emoticons. As standard this gives you just : - ) : - ( and ; - ) but I edited the script file with Internalz Pro to add : - P and : - D to the 2 remaining empty spaces!
