Sorry, homey. I think this only affects Anything offered by Sprint from their MMG (probably Sprint TV only). Which excludes say, http or https traffic.
I was all prepped to test buffer size like crazy (1 through 30). Starting my Excel spreadsheet, I First tested 20 and tested 1. Here is the test summary:
Multimedia Gateway had been changed to 0.0.0.0:0
Multimedia Buffer Size is the changed attribute.
Test and Results
Test 1MB download from dslreports.com mobile bandwidth test (http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1&more=1).
Average of five results.
Buffer Size 1
Average Speed (kbps): 1464
Average Latency (sec): 0.1224
Average Time Spent Downloading 1MB (sec): 5.7446
Buffer Size 20
Average Speed (kbps): 1658
Average Latency (sec): 0.15
Average Time Spent Downloading 1MB (sec): 5.0928
This "tweak" does not increase the speed of your EVDO connection.
Note I would expect changing that changing the home agent may actually have an affect on data speed (from the little I've read on what a Home Agent is). Unless, of course, you're already hitting the throughput/latency bottleneck of your given signal bandwidth (which you probably are).
Also, if the Slot Index in CDMA is anything like the MTU size in TCP (which I don't think it is), I would expect this would increase throughput.
