I am very excited about this patch. This is great news. I was worried it would be a while before they came out with the patch for 1.4. Thank you to Marco and Jeff.

I've never really understood overclocking, is it somewhat safe? I'd love to have a faster pre but not sure how hig the risk is. And how different is it? Smoother? Faster? Quicker loading apps?

    I'm excited.

The 720 patch made me LOVE my Pre.
So fast! It didn't even lose much battery imo.

I don't care if it does. I got a spare one because I kept returning my Pres and they gave me a replacement with a battery in it lol.

I assume it's not possible to get CPU scaling or SmartReflex working with these increased speeds? With these overclocked patches not draining too much extra battery, based on the data, it seems like either of those two working would maybe even save battery from the stock setup.

I haven't read every post in the longer thread, but I've read a bunch, and the impression I get is that it isn't possible.

Is the kernel patch for 720/800 going to be posted or are you only releasing binaries?
