Personally, I don't know of any patch, but here's a link to a WebOS Internals wiki.

You need to be part of the alpha testing team and the list closed for it a day or two ago.

Thats not the patch I was talking about... I am part of the alpha group, but what i'm trying to do is keep 1.3.5 so i can keep the 800 mhz patch installed. The last thing I want is to wake up to see that the update forced its way through while i was still at 800mhz

You have to disable the auto update daemon.

For the sake of clarity, caj, is the bricking the result of the patches clocking in above 600 or is the 600 patch just as likely a culprit as those above it?

I am quite certain I have it disabled... I used the terminal app and the wiki.
Is there any way to confirm that its disabled?

If you open the Update app, it simply continue checking indefinitely.

Yea... they seem extremely high; Celsius? 100 degrees Celsius is where water boils and that's one of the thresholds listed... I've barely seen my Pre's processor at 40 degrees, have yet to see it at 50. Something seems wrong there?

jason2851, I've seen my Pre hit 55C while tethered. Given that it was about 20C above the normal operating temperature that I've seen my Pre average at, I stopped that PDQ. YMMV.

i reverted back to 1.3.5.1 and stayying with it w/ 800mhz

1.4 (although new enhancements is cool), is just too slow for me with stock speeds now.

if you guys can hook up the new kernel with 800, thatd be sweet
  16. #376
I know the Pre was suppose to be a bit faster after 1.4 but mine is not. Will this give me noticeable speed difference?

This thread is really getting confusing because of the 550/600 patches and the 720/800 alpha patches. And caj2008 you have done some great things and we really appreciate it and sorry for your Pre dying.

So, I'm still not clear whether caj2008 was messing with the 720/800 patch when his Pre died or the 550/600 patch with 1.4. I loved the 550/600 patch on 1.3.5 and would like to use it on 1.4. Some people are, but is it the generally consensus that it is safe to use with 1.4?
  18. #378
    yes its confusing, I agree.

to answer you though- yes 600mhz works perfectly fine on 1.4
  19. #379
caj2008 can we discuss the 720/800mhz yet?
  20. #380
So you don't think it had anything to do with 1.4?
