just for clarification I trust unixpsycho and caj2008 every bit as much as I trust the guys at WebOSInternals. After rereading my previous comments I wanted to make it clear that they were directed squarely at those who don't read instructions and not at caj2008 or UnixPsycho. Come payday I'll be donating for there work and I hope everyone who benefits from there dedication and professionalism will as well. We should all commend them for there hard work and the responsible manner in which they're going about it. We are lucky to have you in the Pre community.

Question: does the 600mhz patch introduce a risk of overheating? My Pre can get pretty hot at times, I don't want to melt the CPU or anything.

The heat difference when running at 600 mhz compared to 500 mhz is very small, and would only make much of a difference if you were doing something like playing a 3d game... since palm has it in place to have the phone scale up to 600 mhz while playing games, I would suggest that overheating is just as likely while running at 500 mhz

FWIW...I've observed my Pre as much as twice the base operating temperature while running MHS without any oc'g...

Hopefully, we would see software related anomalies before any physical damage would come from oc'g.

i know, i dont understand why it is being pulled

I tried the command line...and it works fine.

The links in the OP appear to be working.

"My daughter decided to update my Pre to 1.4 while over clocked! It locked up during installing 1.4 and never recovered and wont go past the palm boot screen."
In short I believe I'm the first to actually brick their Pre. Lol Actually not funny but I was lucky enough to justhave received a replacement Pre due to a speaker problem.

In short do not update OTA w this installed.
Please hit the thanks button if I helped you

If you've enjoyed my patches please feel free to donate towards further development.
