Default My clean, simple, yet stylish Pre3 boot screen

I've just created a pair of boot screens for my UK Pre3 to replace the standard glowing HP logo.

I was inspired by RyanCell's boot screens but wanted something at 480x800 resolution with Palm instead of HP.

They need to be renamed to hp-logo.png and hp-logo-bright.png then uploaded to usr/palm/sysmgr/images/1.5/

Nice. Us old-time Palmers can appreciate that!

Is the path for the files different on an AT&T Pre3? I installed the files in the path mentioned above, but the boot screen still shows the HP boot screen.

EDIT: Nevermind. Working fine now. It was just a slight oversight on my part. I forgot to rename the files before sending them to the Pre3.

I bundled these up with a .json to use with Theme Manager so I would not have to keep copying and pasting! Thanks for posting! Looks great!

I copied the .json file template from here: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/...anager_-_0.2.0

1. created a folder in media/internal/.themes/ for the "theme"
2. created an image folder in the media/internal/.themes/<theme name>/
3. dropped the images into that folder (appropriately named)
4. edited the .json template and saved in media/internal/.themes/<theme name>/

edit: I did everything ON DEVICE using Internalz Pro

I was considering making it all a bit bigger, what do people think?

A slightly larger image would be nice.

I agree. I think it could claim some additional real estate on the screen.

This is a great boot up screen. It shows respect for Palm and, at the same time shows the stacked cards feature for webOS. Can you make this available for TouchPad and describe how to install it and add it to a theme? I currently use the Blue Neon theme on my TouchPad and would love this boot up image. Can you render it in neon blue?

Thanks.

Love this logo Using on my main device, thanks.

And for those wondering how to easily add the boot logo, here's a great tutorial page: http://www.precentral.net/replace-fl...ation-homebrew

Also, if you want to go the extra mile and make it into a zip theme for Theme Manager, you can use this tool to simplify things: http://forums.precentral.net/canuck-...er-v3-0-a.html

Awesome. I like those too. Would you mind if I worked on a merged version of our two logos? I like your card interface, and I could make a pre3 & pre sized version and post them up soon.

Anyone is welcome to use the images in anything they want and alter them as they see fit.
When I get a chance later I'll try to fulfill some of the requests (touchpad, bigger pre3 version, blue version etc.)

My skills end with the design at the moment, I'm not really into theming as yet. :-)

I've enlarged the logos by 1.5x now and improved the glow a little.

...and a set of Neon Blue screens for the Touchpad. I have no idea how to install them or what they should be renamed as though!

You need to save them as hp-logo and hp-logo-bright
Then you need to copy them in /usr/palm/sysmgr/images/ and reboot.
Pretty much the same as on the Pre3

Can you make those grayscale like the Pre3 ones?
