Default editing a theme that's an ipk

I was wondering if you could edit a theme that's an ipk file?
or if there are files that you can replace, maybe?

You need the zip file the author is using. Are you using a program or site to build a theme, or are you building from scratch?

Use 7zip to view and extract the contents of an ipk file.
