An "App Theme" would be a theme that only modifies a single app.
With the current theming set up, what kind of limitations are there for my idea? I know you can only have one theme installed at a time, but I'd like to change that. I think having the ability to theme individual apps while still being able to use a system-wide theme would be great! Since an app theme would be relatively small, theme developers would be able to create and release them pretty quickly. It's time we got more control over the webOS visual experience. ![]() What do you guys think about this? |

Nice idea, don't know how it would be implemented though. Some kind of checks/balances system similar to how kernel installs make sure the files being touched are unmodified I would assume would work.

I bet they look for " theme.xml" and if its in the package it stops the install of two theme. IMO

Aren't people already doing this? I just saw a thread the other day where a guy made a nice PreWare theme that made it match the app catalog.

My idea for this thread was having the ability to have multiple themes installed at the same time. It would make it easier to theme single apps without needing the Dev to actually include them in the app. |

If it states that the package is a theme in the theme.xml code, is this what stops you from installing two themes ???? <?xml version="1.0"?> <data generator="PreThemer.com"><themeinfo><name>test</name><version>

We'd need to figure out exactly how themes work first. Oh, and we'd need to figure out a way to require the theme be removed before you update a themed app.
lol

Would you like to install a theme and if you wish, install a themed app?
Or is it only install a themed app with-out installing a regular theme.

I guess that would depend on the theme. A lot of themes also change elements in certain apps. Mostly the Palm apps though. Individual themes for third-party apps should be fine...

Could we just make a patch that changes the default to palm-dark.
The only problem with this is if the app gets updated the patch will have to be remove or all hell will break loose

But in the same thought, if the app updates the images that would be a prob to.
