    Over on prethemer, I worked with "Syanni85" to add a background scrim to the contacts page. Using internalz I copied the list.css file from the stylesheets folder. Then I inserted the line of code "Syani85" had prepaired.
    Like this.....

    Edit the list page the stylesheets like this......

    /* List view - avatars - none, clipped, and unclipped styles */

    .contacts-list-view .palm-list {
    padding-top: 8px;
    }
    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(../images/scrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;
    }

    .palm-alpha-divider {
    height: 32px;
    margin-top: -6px;
    margin-bottom: -8px;
    }

    .list-pic {
    position: absolute;
    right: 20px;
    margin-top: 7px;
    }
    .list-pic-square {
    position: absolute;
    right: 20px;
    margin-top: 7px;
    width: 34px;
    height: 34px;
    }
    .list-pic-portrait {
    position: absolute;
    right: 20px;
    margin-top: 7px;
    width: 34px;
    clip: rect(0,34px,34px,0);
    }
    .list-pic-landscape {
    position: absolute;
    margin-top: 7px;
    right: 9px;
    height: 34px;
    clip: rect(0,34px,34px,0);
    }

    .list-frame {
    position: absolute;
    right: 12px;

    Close and save the file..... Just to be clear were adding this....

    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(../images/scrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;
    }

    ...... to the line of code under the line......

    .contacts-list-view .palm-list {
    padding-top: 8px;
    }

    ...... then close and save. Using webosQI send file to....

    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.contacts/stylesheets/

    Next add the scrim.png to the images file. Send file to

    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.contacts/images/

    Done!! waaalaaaaa! new contacts background! Im including the list.css file in a zip folder, this may save you the editing of your own file BUT, I am not responcible for your actions in any way!!!!!

    Nice work! However, this will be a per user modification. Wonder if Prethemer can work his magic to make this part of our themes?

    Haaaaaaaa........ I got it. This is how to change the text messaging background......

    follow all the instructions from above to get the messaging.css file from
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/stylesheets/, edit it like this.....

    /************************************************** ************************************************
    * Chat view text box
    ************************************************** ************************************************/

    #messageContainer {
    position: fixed;
    bottom:0px;
    left:0px;
    width: 100%;
    }

    #messageContainer #messageTextWidget {
    margin-top: 5px;
    }
    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(../images/scrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;
    }

    #messageContainer textarea {
    height:24px;
    }

    #messageContainer.palm-row .icon.right {
    height: 61px;
    }
    #messageContainer #attachmentContainer {
    position: relative;
    margin-top:10px;
    }
    #messageContainer #attachmentContainer #attachmentImage {
    max-width: 200px;
    max-height: 100px;
    }
    #messageContainer #attachmentContainer #cancelAttachment {
    width:48px;
    height:48px;
    background: url(../images/chatview/delete_picture.png) center center no-repeat;
    position: absolute;
    top: -4px;
    left: -4px;
    padding: 3px;
    }

    #messageContainer #attachmentContainer #cancelAttachment.selected {
    background: url(../images/chatview/delete_picture_press.png) center center no-repeat;
    }

    ...... to recap add this...
    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(../images/scrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;

    under the line.....

    }

    #messageContainer #messageTextWidget {
    margin-top: 5px;
    }

    .........save and send back to phone.....send scrim image to.....
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/images/

    Works like a charm!
    You need to revise your instructions for the messaging one though. You said to follow the previous instructions to get the messaging.css but if someone was doing that blindly they would try:
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.contacts/stylesheets/
    when it should be
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/stylesheets/

    ok so I have an idea...

    1. Change where the file looks for the scrim.png file.. /media/internal/downloads/ ..I did this it works.

    2. Change the name of the scrim to be more app specific.... contactsscrim.png , messagingscrim.png .... did this it works...

    3. Create a patch that changes the list.css and the messaging.css file so that it looks for the scrim in the downloads file....... HAVE NOT DONE THIS! HAVE NO CLUE!

    4. Make downloadable scrim files, for each scrim make a messagingscrim & a contactsscrim.png that way users can download the app specific.png files directly to the download file.

    Anyone that can create a patch or knows someone that can create a patch, send me a pm please. People who know how to use webosQI can do this now by changing the code to this for contacts.....

    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(/media/internal/downloads/contactsscrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;

    And this for messaging.......

    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(/media/internal/downloads/messagingscrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;

    ... name your scrims app specific

    If your going to use the same image for both scrims it will look like this.......

    body.wallpaper, body.palm-default {
    background: url(/media/internal/downloads/scrim.png) 0 0 fixed;
    background-color: #000000;
    -webkit-background-size: 100% 100%;
    color: white;

    Using these ways will make it eazy to test differnt images, without having to open webos QI to send the image file.

    Made a patch for both these mods.

    Just add the scrim.png to the proper image file.
    messaging...
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.messaging/images/

    contacts....
    /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.contacts/images/
