I'm suffering from both the Google calendar and Yahoo calendar sync issues (Google duplicates or doesn't sync, Yahoo doesn't sync at all), wondering if I can go with an Exchange sync and then keep stuff backed up to my desktop. Any companies that offer free or low cost Exchange hosting?

You can set Google up as an Exchange server actually. There are a few drawbacks, such as only being able to have one calendar. I don't know if that will help your situation or not. I have Google set up as an Exchange server myself.

Yeah, I have multiple calendars too. I access them by having them linked to another gmail account which my Pre syncs with, but that doesn't help your situation.

I use hosted exchange through 1and1 and it works flawlessly.
