Howdy folks, this is my first post here on the pre|central.net forums and I'd like to thank all of those folks who are willing to share and help other folks with questions and issues.

My provider (dslextreme.com) provides email services through gmail. I'm having some issues getting either IMAP or POP to work.

POP Settings in the Pre:

Mail Type: POP
Emaill Address: somefunnyname at dslextreme dot com
Password: -----------

Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com
Username: somefunnyname at dslextreme dot com
Port: 995
Encyrption: SSL

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
Username: somefunnyname at dslextreme dot com
Port: 465 (tried 587 too)
Encryption: SSL


IMAP Settings in the Pre:

Mail Type: IMAP
Email Address: somefunnyname at dslextreme dot com
Password: --------------

Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
Username: somefunnyname at dslextreme dot com
Port: 993
Encyrption: SSL

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
Username: somefunnyname at dslextreme dot com
Port: 465 (tried 587 too)
Encryption: SSL

Root Folder: somefunnyname


OK so that's the background information on both of the setups I've attempted to use for my email synching.

Whenever I complete the configuration for either one, and attempt to sign in, the sign in button will not click, it stays low-lighted and does not click/will not permit me to sign in.

I've spoken with the folks at dslextreme and they don't require anything special past the usual SSL, incoming/outgoing server settings, and ensuring that either POP or IMAP is enabled at the webmail location so the appropriate protocal may communicate.

Any thoughts, ideas or helpful rumminations?
