    setting up an imap/nongmail account. i cant get it to send emails. im trying to use sprint smtp.sprintpcs.com as my outgoing server, but i can’t remember my user name or password. any idea how to go online to find that on my sprint account?
    or is there another way to do it?

    can you be more specific. i can't find it. i can see the email address under settings and passowrds..but thats the one i set. i can also see my sprintpcs email when i go to device info on my phone, but i can't figure out what my password is for that or how to find it

    any help

    My understanding is that Sprint is discontinuing it's mail service.

    hmm, i'm having sporadic IMAP sendmail issues too - the pre gives me 3 errors about not being able to send (with no meaningful message...). however durring that time the mail has apparently gone out as it shows on my desktop in the sent mail folder (and when I test mail to myself in the inbox). Weird.

    use your isp smtp server. it worked for my setup.

    Sprint just setup a new username and password for me yesterday. So I think is still being used, so call Sprint for it.

    1) To Reset Your Sprintpcs.com SMTP PASSWORD
    - login to your account on sprint.com
    - click "My Online Tools" tab in the menu (near the top right)
    - Under "Productivity Tools" see "Email Server Password" (on the right)
    - click "Create/Change password>>"
    - enter new password and confirm. Enter something in the name field.
    - Click Done

    2) To Find Out Your Sprintpcs.com SMTP USERNAME
    - on your Pre, go to the Launcher and click "Device Info"
    - Scroll to the bottom and click "More Info"
    - Scroll to the bottom of the "Hardware" page
    - Under NAI, the first part of your xxxxx01@sprintpcs.com email *should* be your Username (ie: xxxxx01)

    3) To Setup Your "Outgoing Mail Server" Through Sprintpcs.com
    - Server Name: smtp.sprintpcs.com
    - Use Authentication: ON
    - Username: xxxxx01 (see instructions above)
    - Password: xxxxxxx (see instructions above)
    - Port: 25
    - Encryption: None
    Treo300>600>650>755p>Pre
