Touchstone warranty repair worth it?

Has anyone ever had a touchstone repaired under the limited warranty? I found one of the $8 ones at a Radio Shack but it is not working. I have used different backs on my pixi plus and only had it work twice sporadically. Is it worth it to try and get it repaired or should I just return it for my money back?

I ordered another one from vzw for $15 with a couple of the super special backs ($2.49) so hopefully i will be happily charging soon. TIA.

if they don't work, you should exchange them.
