Why manufacturers don't put these types of things on the phones at the factory is beyond me. They're blindingly obvious additions to such an expensive device that you carry around in your pocket all day.

I'd bet they could do like a tough, spray on, teflon-type coating right in the factory that would be attractive and scratch resistant. Something like the scratch coating on my glasses.
