just gave it a try on my Pixi Plus running WebOS 2.1 now that the ROW version is released. I expected the worst
but it's running just fine just like the original device menu did but with a lot better look and functions of course. The only thing that doesn't work is Flashlight (it just says Error), because no one figured out how to use the Pixi's built in flash for 3rd party apps (so this is not your fault, garrett)So far so good, thanks a lot to Garrett92C !!! BTW: German translation for Roaming is completely false. In Germany we use the English word instead |

This should fix all - warning: it's a radical solution [it doesn't ruin your device, but, you know... system files are fragile), so use it if nothing else works (and if someone doesn't find another one better)-Tested on my pre3 and all works fine.

I had a problem with a patch modified by me, and then I used that procedure... all turns back as original, why should be problematic?
I mean, system-ui is something we can (carefully) touch ![]() Anyway I've got your point, so... use that procedure as last solution, before to doctor

Ok, I'm back (mostly)!
Things on my to-do list: - Improve localization - Add Tweaks to hide tabs/options - Add VPN tab - Extend gesture bars to the full length of the screen - More options! Glad you guys are liking the patch so far. Quote:
I don't have a Touchpad anymore, so my work with that device is done. Sorry! I do plan to work on something similar for Open webOS though! It'll take a lot of research though, so don't expect it anytime soon...

Me too! Like I said before, I can help with spanish localization. I've done so for 72ka's Google Maps app.

Calling this a patch is almost derogatory...can we just call it WebOS 2.3? ;-) THANKS!
I'm running an AT&T Pre3 and haven't installed any new patches in over three months. The New Device Menu was the first, for which I had to uninstall 3 patches: Sconix's
Since New Device, I've noticed that the "home/work/mobile" buttons in the Contacts app don't work - instead of getting a dropdown list to classify the phone number, it just blinks. The other fields' (IM, address, etc.) category buttons exhibit the same behavior? Does anyone else have this problem? I've uninstalled New Device Menu, but the problem remains. If this is an unrelated problem, I'd appreciate if someone could PM me a solution short of doctoring: AUSMT Recovery? Anything else?

I'm finding it impossible to install this on my unlocked (UK) Pre3. I'm using the ROW patch which downloads and then just spins forever without finishing or erroring.
I previously thought I may have a corrupt device menu as, when I uninstalled my old patches I was left with no device menu at all so I did a full doctor yesterday (Emergency Patch Removal did not help) and then tried to install this patch before any others. Any ideas what may be causing the 'Install Package' in Preware to stall like this? |

Me the same. I didn't even knew, at the time, what was that "AUSMT" thing.
By the way, guess what I'm missing in this new glorious menu? Battery level in figures. I know there are patches for the icon, to show its level with tiny digits, but I prefer it on the menu, like in Sconix' "Advanced System Menus - Device Menu" patch.

Nope, still hangs after downloading
![]() EDIT, I've gone back to the Sconix which is working. Maybe when this goes live in Preware it will have all dependencies sorted as I strongly suspect it is a dependency issue. Last edited by andyhurley; 01/09/2013 at 11:20 AM. |
