This could be the reason why it function in my case, because I'm using a ATT 16GB Pre3 in Germany. :-)

Yep! It looks like the VZW Pre3 uses the same file as ROW. At least I only have to maintain two different versions instead of three...

Looks like you don't have AUSMT installed. That's a dependency for all newer patches. You can find it in Preware as 'AUSMT Scripts'.

I haven't figured out a way to get my ipk to check for dependencies. I'll add a not to the top post about this.

The luna-platform.conf displayed in that post is the stock version in all Pre3 doctors...

The line you are looking for is: ScaleFactor=1.5 not ScaleDashboard?

I do not find any differences in the md5sums (from luna-sysmgr.md5sums):

AT&T: 7abe69deeb76ec973ce5fc1ffda8b5d4 *./etc/palm/luna-platform.conf
VZW: 7abe69deeb76ec973ce5fc1ffda8b5d4 *./etc/palm/luna-platform.conf

So I think they could not change the root from read-only to read-write to change the file.

Unless someone add the virtual keyboard (Pre3) change modifies the false to a true.

I do not see any reason why the frameworks 383/112/conf files all are the same from md5sums.

Scratch the bit about ScaleDashboard. Looks like my AT&T doctor was messed up.

If the patch is failing on luna-platform.conf, then that file has been modified by another patch. Uninstall that patch and try again.

i get the same error, tho it could be because of 1 of the multitude of patches i have, it happened previously with 2 patches i had no idea would conflict with another seemingly vastly different patch.

ill take another look at my config and see if its modified as well, which is highly likely.

hard to tell which patch altered anything, do you have this in .patch format that we can edit?

i recall having to edit the patch no "change user agent string/settings" to match what my config contained otherwise it failed to install, after a quick edit, the patch installed fine, is the same possible here?

The problem is the patching system, which expects an absolute match +/- a few spaces and newlines. It doesn't want to blindly insert a line in one place while it's actually supposed to be in another place.

took a gander at mine and it matches the picture posted earlier by mgmft, exactly, maybe if a patch has altered it, then i can find the backup of the original that preware made and just copy it back.

EDIT: nope, only webosinternals backups of luna.conf and lunaanimations.conf, back to finding a plan b.

Looks like some people used patches that changed luna-platform.conf in some way. I'm not sure how to fix that besides sending a fresh file. I'll look into it more when I have time.

As far as progress on this patch goes, I probably won't be doing anything until the weekend. Spent a ton of time working on it yesterday and am struggling to find motivation to work on it today. I figure taking a couple days off will let me recharge my batteries. I did make decent progress today and I'll include that in this weekend's update.
