[REQUEST] Sync icon in top bar

Is there a patch that displays when the phone is syncing with google, facebook, etc? Would be great if there was an indicator in the top bar for that.

there is an icon in the notification area, doesn´t that suffice?

The notification icon is only shown at first sync. It would be great to see when my phone connects to download emails, calendar events...
