Don't forget to activate the Virtual Keyboard by using the "luna.conf.patch". I got that from Arthur Thornton. I also made a new one for Pre3.

SO FAR:
The patch stablizes the VKB; however, when trying to change the screen orientation, Luna seems to crash. I am checking that later on.

I'm a user of Pre3 AT&T~
When I test the patch I have found some BUGS~I want to tell you these,and hope you can update the patch to solve the problems listed as follows:
1/When I use the explorer to view some websites,I use the virtual key at the same time.But when I turn the screen from vertical to horizontal,the virtual key will broke down,and the pre3 will restart soon~
2/When the screen is horizontal,I can use the same method to call out the virtual key,but I found I can't use it,when I point the virtual key,it is useless,just like only to point the screen.
Thank you very much,and I hope you can solve these two problems in the nearly future.

Yup, these problems are known eversince I made the patch. I am trying to figure what makes Luna crash, but it is a bit harder without the source-code. I will post my progress in the initial discussion. You can see the link in the first post.

Very good work. However the VKB.sh script won´t work on an European Pre3.
It says "Unknown version".

It would be great if you could include the European Pre3.

My Pre3 is European I guess (its a german QWERTZ one) and it works for me...

What have you done?
I´ve installed the Pre3.patch. Then I sent the VKB.sh File to the Pre3 and run it, but it says "Version unknown". The keyboard appears, thats right, but after some keystrokes it hangs.

Which version of webOS are you using? which device (Unlocked, AT&T, or Verizon) are you using?

Can you do a simple SHA1 hash on the libWebKitLuna.so found in /usr/lib/libWebKitLuna.so and report that .. Also, it would be helpful if you can upload it and send the link to me so I can look at it

You really have a different libWebKitLuna.so ... I don't know why!

Can you give me your webOS Doctor link? I would like to extract the files and compare.

Also, do you know if you have installed any patch that would change the binaries of the libWebKitLuna.so?

Don´t really know, but I don´t think so.

I don't think there are any other binary patches available at the moment, definitely none in the standard or beta preware feeds since aupt-4 doesn't support them, so you'd have to have run a script like the one in this thread, which i presume you haven't? :P
That webOS doctor is the standard Unlocked Euro one, it matches the link on WebOS Internals' doctor versions page. Very curious indeed. Did you get your Pre3 direct from HP?

finally I figured out what it means : send the VKB.sh - file to "/" folder AND it works on a German QWERTY

but unfortunately stability is still as poor as without the VKB.sh -file, it often just freezes.

That´s because the VKB.sh doesn´t work at all on a German Pre3, as I mentioned above , but I´m sure that CvvB will work on that.
