Default [Patch] More Standby Times HD

For TouchPad users looking for more standby time possibilities in the "Screen & Lock" preferences. This adds:
  • 15 seconds
  • 30 seconds
  • 30 minutes
  • 1 hour
  • 3 hours
  • 8 hours
  • 24 hours
This will also be submitted to the Patch portal, so it should be available through Preware in a little while. The attached version will work on 3.0.2, 3.0.4, and 3.0.5.

I'd rather have those times for the lock than the screen

Just installed it... very cool... THANKS!

I am curious as to how useful the 8-hour and 24-hour options are.

It's can't be good to leave the Touchpad's screen on for that long.

Thlnk about it, when a TouchPad sits on its Touchstone charger in exhibition mode the screen is on and also, I've had my Pre sitting on its Touchstone with the screen set never to turn off for countless of hours now for well over 2 years with no damage to the screen, so no worries my friend, enjoy your $99 dollar investment guilt free

You haven't seen the LCD screen burn-in on my $2500 Sony LCD TV....
After leaving it on for one night with a static image, it was burn-in
paradise.

Sony refused warranty service.... so did Best Buy service plan...
Fortunately, my dog jumped on the TV stand and knocked it over,
cracking the LCD screen... that's what accidental damage coverage
is for, yes? (yes, I have a dog... once upon a time)

All I can tell you is my TouchPad and Pre (same screen technology) have spent hours upon hours with the same graphics on the screen with no burn in, if you want to compare your TV screen to them and worry about burn in, well that's up to you. I am stating real world experience to speculation. This all I am going to say on this subject.

8-hours is my Sunday Fantasy Football special ... and 24-hours is essentially the "Never Turn Off" option.

I changed my mind... the 8-hour option is actually quite useful.

Never tried the 24-hour option.... won't the battery die first?

Hi all...

I enabled the option to lock my touchpad yesterday... And i wanted to get more "times" in the options of the lock !

I saw a patch in preware, but... It is only fore phones ? I can instal it but doesn t work.

And i tried this patch ! but i got an error when i instal it with internalz. Not compatible with 3.0.4 ?

thanks !

This patch is in Preware (the same one that is in the first post) and will work on the TouchPad for 3.0.2 and 3.0.4. The description in Preware has two sections, one describing what's available for Phones and one describing what's available for Tablets. I'd suggest installing it via Preware and if it fails, seeing what the error message is. Do you have any other "Screen Lock" patches installed? I have both "More Standby Times" and "Reduce Minimum Brightness" installed successfully.

haha, i've understood... Sorry, it works, but...

i thought it was a way to add times to the "lock after..." option when you enable the security lock

It's a bit anoying to put your pw when your touchpad is on standby for more than 30 minutes... One hour or two would be great, Don t know why they are such restricted with the choices...

For those that have now moved on to 3.0.5, the attached patch will work as is.

burn in on a lcd? That not even supposed to be possible . I'm guessing that's why you had warranty issues.
there is something called image retention with lcd's but simply turning the unit off then on again would fix that.it is possible all you needed to do was unplug then replug your tv

It will be in Preware for 3.0.5 when the Patch portal begins accepting 3.0.5 patches. There was work being down in response to some of the 3.0.5 changes, so the Patch portal won't be ready until this weekend (if estimates are accurate).

If you want to use the patch sooner, download and install it via WOSQI or Internalz Pro.
