    Hi,
I'm still missing a patch to make me possible to EDIT contacts in my Contatct app because my touch screen is broken in the left side.

So I need a way to make the EDIT button to work:

    # Rotate this screen (contact page)
    # Increase the button (width) so I can "touch it" where my screen works
    # Change the edit button to the right (top or bottom)
    # An Edit optin in the menu list

    Thanks for any help

Why not get a new device? This is only a temporary fix.

If I helped you or you have downloaded one of my files,
then least you could do is click the "Thanks" button.

I don't understand your problem. My edit button is centered at the bottom edge of the screen.

jossanaijr I have a suggestion. If your purchase a new or used Pre+ from eBay you can use the FrankenPre procedure move your comm board to the replacement phone. This way you'll have a fully functioning screen. You might even think about upgrading to the Pre 2 (I just did).

If you stick with the Pre+, you only have to do the physical change, no messing with software.

All the FrankenPre references I've seen have been for Sprint phones. Since you are with AT&T, I'm not sure if it is necessary. You could just buy a replacement phone on eBay and have AT&T switch you over to the replacement.

For your information here are a couple of videos showing the FrankenPre process:

    - CDMA

Thanks but my problem is that I live outside USA and use the ATT phone with another SIM and I cannot replace it or any warranty. I enjoy it and I was thinking to wait for Pre 3, a hard process to me to buy it, activate it, unlocke it, and import it to my country... Now, after so many years with Palm I've been thinking to change my mind and buy a Samsung Galaxy S II (available here) or a Google Nexus S (not available here...).

Not sure. I looked through my list of installed patches and it doesn't appear that any of them would affect that button. Do you have a theme installed? Maybe that moved yours. Have you tried the webOS Repair Utility? If your contact app was somehow altered in error then the Repair Utility would probably correct it.

Hmmm, now I'm even more confused. I just looked in the User Guide (shocking huh, someone actually read the User Guide) and the pic in there shows the 'Edit' button in the bottom left, like yours. What version of WebOS are you using?

    Hi,
    version 1.4.5
No theme installed, no patch that I know changed it to left.
    Perhaps an ATT version?

Well, that seems like a pretty silly thing for a carrier to change. But, I don't think that is the case, I looked in a Sprint manual and it showed it in bottom left corner but yet on my sprint pre- it is centered.

Here's the patches that I have installed. I don't see any that would alter that button but maybe you want to research it yourself.

Ok, I'm still confused. I checked my wife's Pre- which has very few patches installed and her 'Edit' button is centered as well.

Maybe it would be worth it for you to PM sconix. He's the one that wrote all the advanced configuration patches. I would imagine that if anyone knew how and where to make the change, he would.
