Default Patch Request - Save or View larger contact avatar picture

Sometimes when I'm looking at my contacts, I will notice that a friend has changed their Facebook / Google avatar picture. So when I open the contact to perhaps view the picture in a larger size, that option is not available.

This was asked over a year ago and the answer was "no this can't be done yet."

Is this possible yet??

Not that I've seen. The behavior seems to be the same in WebOS 2.x.x as it is in WebOS 1.4.5.

Given that the API's for synergy are to be given to Devs, this might be available soon (should a dev decide to write a possible patch for it).

A cheap work-around would be to call that person which should render a larger picture in the phone caller ID app (so long as the Facebook contact is the default contact assigned to the aforementioned person).

Update: I just found a directory where these mini-avatar files are stored (in 2.1 anyway).

/var/luna/data/im-avatars/

Again, these pics are cryptically named and only 2-3KBs in size which makes the fullscreen quality terrible. I'm guessing in the contact DB, these filenames are listed or something like that. I'm going to continue to research.

How do you actually access these files on your phone? (I know this should be obvious but when I start the linux command line with webOS quick install I can't actually change directories or anything...)
